Jessica has a family heritage of leading a community of supporters to advance a shared mission. She is educated in community counseling and family and human services, which has served as a great foundation for many nonprofit endeavors. She has served with development teams and enjoys seeing a mission advanced with the love and support of a generous community. Her relational approach puts the donor at ease and quickly builds rapport with other development and fundraising partners. She has successful experience with events, major donor gifts, estate gifts, alumni relations, grants and foundations, as well as written and oral gift solicitations.
Relationships. I remember in high school and college when the conversation turned to “What’s your thing?” in an effort to refine career aspirations. Often my peers answered with basketball, dance, baking, babysitting, etc. I would think to myself, “Relationships. Is that a possible answer? What does that mean for me?” Turns out, it is a very possible answer! And it has led me through a career of counseling adolescents and families, sales and customer service, and development for nonprofit missions.
People give to people. Generosity begets generosity. We all want to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. Giving is a way to advance the things you are passionate about. At the heart of giving, and so at the heart of fundraising, is authentic relationships with all people.
